I also produce sailing and yachting documentaries, yacht videos for private owners, marketing and web videos and other productions related to the boating & sailing lifestyle. I shoot with state of the art, broadcast level, high definition cameras and generate DVD's and encode HD for web content. My name is Ed Kukla, and I am at the helm of Starboard Films. I recently combined my experience and love for cinematography and boating into this new venture, Starboard Films. Having worked as a professional cinematographer for over 20 years, I've lent my creative talents to a variety of projects including documentaries for the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, A & E, HGTV, among many others. I have shot sailing and boating videos as far back as 1986; my wife Chris and I have been active boat owners since 1989. We have owned two express cruiser-style power boats and recently switched to sail. We currently live aboard Freedom, our Endeavour 42 sloop, and are looking forward to taking in as many sunsets from as many different waters as the wind will allow. Let me capture your yacht, your boating event or your marina's amenities like only a true boater can. My other company is Ed Kukla Cinematography; this website is full of information directed to television and corporate producers. I began working as a freelance cinematographer in the 80's, shooting primarily marketing films for the automotive industry. My clients included Chevy, Ford, Cadillac, Saturn, Mazda, Toyota, Honda and many more. In recent years, The focus has shifted to documentaries and short films for Discovery and their many channels as well as History, HGTV, Food, A & E, CMT, ESPN, etc. The Ed Kukla Cinematography website has a very long webpage of testimonials from many happy producers.
